Kunzang Topgay Bhutia – Global fashion icon at GSFW 2025

With his elegant demeanor, sharp intellect, and pioneering spirit, Kunzang Topgay Bhutia is not only an exceptional model, but also an inspiring young speaker and leader. Hailing from Northeast India, he has conquered prestigious beauty competitions and established his personal mark in various fields. The title of Mister Grand International India 2022 has not only brought him recognition but also opened up numerous opportunities for him to continue cherishing his values. Now, as the Global Ambassador for Global Student Fashion Week 2025 (GSFW 2025), Kunzang carries the mission of connecting, fostering creativity, and inspiring the younger generation in the fashion industry.

Global Student Fashion Week 2025: A turning point for fashion and creativity

Global Student Fashion Week is not only a fashion event, but also a platform for young designers to showcase their talents and innovative thinking. As the global ambassador, Kunzang carries the  mission of promoting connections between young talents and the global fashion industry.

For Kunzang, fashion is not just about clothes or style, but a medium to convey stories, culture, and life perspectives. He is particularly interested in developing sustainable fashion, encouraging the younger generation to pursue designs with long-term value, environmental friendliness, and adaptability to changes. “The young designers of today will shape the future of the fashion industry. I want to help them see fashion not just as creativity but also as a responsibility to the community and environment”.

Kunzang also wishes for GSFW 2025 to become a forum connecting cultures, where young talents can learn, exchange, and broaden their vision. With the development of the digital era, he believes that events like GSFW are not only fashion shows but also opportunities for young designers to enter the international fashion market.

Kunzang Topgay Bhutia: A model of versatility and confidence

Not limiting himself to the fashion industry, Kunzang has proven his excellence in various fields. Born in Gangtok, Sikkim – one of India’s regions with a distinctive culture, he early understood the value of perseverance and learning. In 2018, Kunzang entered the entertainment industry with the title of Mr. Sikkim, laying the foundation for his modeling career. With his professional presentation style, attractive appearance, and confident demeanor, he continued to conquer the Rubaru Mr. India 2022 competition and subsequently won Mister Grand International India 2022. Not stopping at the catwalk, Kunzang also affirmed himself on major platforms, becoming a TEDx speaker, where he shared his views on personal development, leadership spirit, and the value of perseverance.

Besides his artistic career, Kunzang is also a professional inspector, a field that requires discipline, strategic thinking, and high responsibility. Balancing between the fashion industry and an administrative career demonstrates the image of a confident man with both physical appeal and depth of thought.

Family and values that shape Kunzang

Behind Kunzang Topgay Bhutia’s spotlight is not just personal effort but also solid support from his family, especially his mother – the person who has had the greatest influence on his development path. His mother is not only a nurturer and caretaker but also a great teacher who taught him important lessons about perseverance, kindness, and the value of love. For Kunzang, family provides great spiritual strength, helping him steadily pursue his big dreams. “My mother always said that kindness and perseverance are the two most important factors to overcome any challenge. She taught me not only through words but through her own life – a strong, dedicated woman who is always ready to sacrifice for those she loves”, he shares.

From these simple yet profound lessons, Kunzang has not only developed his career but also formed his own life philosophy: true success lies not in titles or positions, but in how one can use their influence to create positive impacts on society. Therefore, whether appearing on the fashion runway, in a TEDx talk, or in his professional inspector role, Kunzang always carries a spirit of dedication, inspiration, and spreading positive values. He believes that when individuals prioritize community interests, they not only enrich themselves but also help society develop more sustainably.

Message to the young designer generation

As GSFW 2025 ambassador, Kunzang not only accompanies designers but also wishes to motivate them to believe in themselves, boldly innovate, and continuously create. He understands that the path to success is never easy, but with enough perseverance and clear direction, each individual can make a difference. “The younger generation is the future of fashion. I want you to understand that fashion has no limits; what matters is daring to experiment and not being afraid of change”.

Besides creativity, Kunzang also emphasizes the importance of professional work attitude, progressive thinking, and a sense of responsibility to the community. For him, a good designer is not just someone who creates beautiful outfits but also someone who brings meaningful values to life. “Keep learning, keep exploring. The steps you take today will determine your path forward. Don’t let fear limit your abilities,” Kunzang says. With the values that Kunzang brings, GSFW 2025 promises to be not just a fashion event, but a milestone for the younger generation to showcase their talent and breakthrough thinking. His companionship will certainly create positive impacts, helping young designers become more confident on their path to self-affirmation.
