At the age of 13, Triesca Lee Jyang Lyng charms others with her gentle demeanor, humility, and eagerness to learn. Her passion for fashion did not stem from a desire to become a model, but from her mother enrolling her in posture classes due to a mild spinal curvature. Yet, this small turning point opened the door to a bigger journey: a journey that helped Triesca discover confidence, self-expression, and the joy of being in front of the camera.
From the classroom to a sudden knack for runways
Starting out with the goal of improving her posture, Triesca never imagined she would stick with modeling for long. Over time, however, her interactions with the camera, the lighting, and the process of conveying emotions through each step gradually changed her. Experimenting with different poses, learning to control her movements, and observing her classmates sparked her interest.
“At first, I just thought it was a class to fix my posture, but then I realized I really enjoyed expressing emotions on stage,” Triesca shared. Moving from passivity to being more proactive in every lesson, she began to see modeling as a way to become bolder and more comfortable with her own image.
First experiences in Manila and testaments of maturity
One of Triesca’s most memorable experiences was her performance in Manila, the very first fashion show she ever participated in. There wasn’t much pressure to achieve awards; what made her proud was simply daring to step onto the stage and complete her performance.
It was at that moment that Triesca noticed a clear change compared to her first days in class, when her mindset was only to “stand with correct posture.” Standing under the lights and walking while the audience watched made her realize how far she had come through her efforts.
“The show in Manila made me feel that I had improved a lot. I’m happy I gave myself the chance to try something new,” she shared. That moment became a source of motivation for Triesca to keep practicing, broaden her experiences, and maintain a learning spirit in every future project.
An art-loving girl: art, music, and personal creative space
Besides modeling, Triesca spends a lot of time on painting and music, two activities that help her relax and nurture her emotions. Weekend painting sessions or listening to music after school help her maintain balance, avoid pressure, and stay cheerful while juggling multiple activities.
Triesca shares that creativity is a way for her to understand herself better. Music boosts her confidence and sometimes even helps her adjust her rhythm during practice. The blend of modeling and the arts creates an emotional foundation that allows her to remain natural and at ease whenever she appears in front of the camera.
Staying positive with a dream to expand international experiences
What Triesca always keeps in mind on her modeling journey is not to compare herself with others. She chooses to focus on her own progress, no matter how small, to maintain a positive mindset.
“I try to trust my own learning process. Every experience is an opportunity for me to grow,” Triesca says. The support from her family helps her sustain confidence, especially during times of difficulty or when facing new challenges.
Looking ahead, Triesca hopes to perform on bigger stages, collaborate with international brands, and gain more experience. Yet she remains committed to the belief that the most important thing is to work with joy, without losing authenticity and creativity.
