Kate’s affordable Wimbledon earrings have also been worn by Hailey Bieber

The Princess of Wales this weekend delighted fans with her appearance at the Wimbledon Men’s Final on Sunday afternoon, which she attended alongside her daughter Princess Charlotte and her sister Pippa Middleton. For the occasion, Kate looked regal in a purple Safiyaa dress, but it was her earrings that really caught our eye – the royal wore a pair of statement gold hoops by independent label By Pariah, one that is beloved by the likes of Kendall Jenner, Michelle Obama and Nicola Coughlan.

Founded by designer Sophie Howard in 2016, By Pariah specialises in jewellery that celebrates natural materials, and she has something of a knack for creating pieces that A-listers wear on repeat. Take Jenner, for example, who was spotted in By Pariah’s ‘Curve Hoop’ earrings on five occasions during Paris Fashion Week, or Katie Holmes, who has been seen in the ‘Large Drop’ earrings over and over again.

The style chosen by Kate on Sunday was a particularly special pair, Howard tells us. “They are inspired by these large sculptural earrings my mum used to wear when I was little. That’s why they’re called the ‘Sabine Hoops’, they’re named after her.”

The unique hoops – which do also come in a larger size and a clip-on version, as well as in silver – were the perfect accessory for Kate’s ensemble, adding just a dash of drama to an otherwise classic look. It is because of exactly this that Howard believes they have been such a hit with her customers.

“I think they’re so popular because they’re so easy but also make a statement,” she says. “They dress up an outfit but in a cool, effortless way. They’re a unique alternative to your classic gold hoop.”

The princess is not the only celebrity to have snapped up a pair – Hailey Bieber, Olivia Colman, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jodie Comer and Simone Ashley have also been seen in the Sabine earrings – and we have a feeling that getting the royal seal of approval is going to encourage even more love for the ‘Sabine Hoops’.

“[It feels] completely surreal to be honest but so special,” Howard adds. “I am so proud of our team aHarper’s bazaar UKnd am deeply honoured and grateful for Kate’s support.”
