Nam Cat Tien forest with a magnificent inspiration for Vietnam’s Miss Global 2026 representative

Vietnamese representative Tran Huyen Trang has officially unveiled her National Costume, titled “Ngoc Luc Khong Tuoc” (Emerald Peacock), created by designers Ho Hoang Nhan and Thuan Le, as part of her journey at Miss Global 2026. Inspired by the beauty of the Indochinese green peafowl and the ecosystem of Nam Cat Tien Forest, the design makes a striking impression with its emerald-green palette, expansive peacock tail, and highly artistic details. The creation conveys a message of nature conservation while celebrating the beauty of Vietnamese women.

A majestic emblem for Vietnamese identity

As part of her journey to promote Vietnam’s image on the international beauty pageant stage at Miss Global 2026, Tran Huyen Trang introduced her National Costume, titled “Ngoc Luc Khong Tuoc” (Emerald Peacock). Created by designers Ho Hoang Nhan and Thuan Le, the piece seeks to combine inspiration from nature, the visual language of runway fashion, and a message celebrating Vietnamese identity.

The name “Ngoc Luc Khong Tuoc” evokes the regal beauty of the peacock and the distinctive shades of green found in tropical forests. The peacock motif serves as the central theme throughout the design, expressed through an expansive tail extending behind the wearer to create a striking and highly symbolic silhouette. The feathers, with their distinctive eye-like patterns, produce a layered visual effect, giving the costume an appearance that is both graceful and majestic.

The peacock also symbolizes pride, elegance, and vibrant vitality. By incorporating this imagery into the national costume, the two designers aim to create a look capable of capturing the attention of international audiences while conveying a story about Vietnam’s natural environment through visual language. This approach also allows the runway costume to transcend aesthetics, becoming a medium for storytelling about culture and the environment.

A refreshing inspiration from the wildlife of Cat Tien

One of the standout features of “Ngoc Luc Khong Tuoc” (Emerald Peacock) is its palette of emerald green, deep green, and silver. These shades are coordinated across the bodice, skirt, accessories, and decorative details to create a cohesive look inspired by the peacock. The transitions between layers of color add depth to the costume while accentuating the wearer’s silhouette.

The inspiration drawn from Nam Cat Tien Forest is expressed through shades of green that evoke tropical vegetation, the vitality of ancient forests, and the richness of Vietnam’s ecosystems. Within the overall design, the expansive peacock tail resembles a large canopy of leaves, complemented by flowing silver-green lines that suggest the movement of nature. A backdrop featuring forested mountains, water, and golden light further reinforces the connection between the costume and the natural landscape. Beyond its color palette, the treatment of form also contributes to the design’s distinctive identity. The skirt consists of multiple layered tiers, accented by metallic borders and decorative elements inspired by the structure of feathers. The shoulders are broadened with symmetrical sculptural panels. Together, these details strike a balance between the softness of womenswear and the strength and pride embodied by the peacock.

“Ngoc Luc Khong Tuoc” draws attention to the value of natural ecosystems. Messages of forest conservation, biodiversity preservation, and environmental awareness are incorporated into the design in a visually accessible way, allowing the story of nature to reach audiences through fashion.

Impressive design methods from the creators

Created by designers Ho Hoang Nhan and Thuan Le, “Ngoc Luc Khong Tuoc” (Emerald Peacock) demonstrates a strong investment in sculptural forms, color, and the arrangement of decorative details. Rather than focusing exclusively on the traditional silhouette of the ao dai, the design adopts a performance-oriented approach, combining multiple structural layers to create a striking visual impact.

The peacock tail is the most prominent feature of the overall design. The feathers are arranged in a wide fan shape, surrounding the wearer and forming an immediate backdrop. Eye-like feather patterns in shades of blue, green, and gold are distributed across the surface, adding depth to the tail and reinforcing the recognizability of the peacock motif. Flowing silver-green lines running along both sides create a sense of movement, evoking streams of water or the organic forms of vegetation.

The combination of materials, silhouette, and accessories allows the costume to meet the demands of a stage design for an international beauty pageant. As national costumes are often regarded as a means of expressing a country’s identity, creating a highly recognizable visual motif plays an important role. With “Ngoc Luc Khong Tuoc,” the two designers have chosen an approach centered on symbolism and visual artistry, resulting in a theatrical look that also connects fashion with the story of environmental conservation.

Strong message for Vietnam’s resilient females

When worn by Tran Huyen Trang, “Ngoc Luc Khong Tuoc” (Emerald Peacock) seeks to portray the image of the modern Vietnamese woman: confident, resilient, and ready to express her individuality. The model’s runway posture and poses with the emerald-green fan allow her to embody the peacock motif, highlighting the blend of graceful beauty and a powerful stage presence.

The appearance of “Ngoc Luc Khong Tuoc” during the Miss Global 2026 journey therefore carries the aspiration to present an image of Vietnam that is rich in cultural identity, closely connected to nature, and actively embracing international integration. Through Tran Huyen Trang’s performance and the creative vision of Ho Hoang Nhan and Thuan Le, the costume introduces a contemporary fashion perspective on Vietnamese culture. From the green hues of the forest to the proud image of the peacock, the creation conveys a message of beauty intertwined with responsibility, while celebrating Vietnamese women who confidently shine on the international stage in their own distinctive ways.
