Global Student Fashion Week (GSFW) is the world’s first fashion week dedicated exclusively to institutions in the fashion training sector, with the mission of shaping a new era for the global fashion industry. Alongside experts, presidents, beauty queens, and kings, the Global Student Model Ambassadors also play a vital role in spreading the program’s positive messages and helping designers convey the fullest meaning of their collections. A standout name on this list is Luong Thi Vinh Linh, the Miss Van Lang University 2023 titleholder.
Journey of breaking through limits
Since childhood, Vinh Linh dreamed of wearing the most beautiful outfits, strutting down fashion runways, and competing in beauty pageants. However, as she grew older, she faced insecurities about her appearance. Her angular face, less-than-perfect figure, and hurtful comments from others made her feel that her dreams were forever out of reach. Despite this, the unwavering support and inspiration from her family and friends helped Linh regain her confidence. She realized that to turn her dreams into reality, she not only needed to change her perception of herself but also had to work many times harder than others. Linh learned to love herself, transforming her weaknesses into motivation to rise above challenges and prove: “No matter how difficult the start, anyone can shine if they have enough determination and faith.”
With relentless effort, talent, and intellectual beauty, Vinh Linh was crowned Miss Van Lang 2023, representing the image of a dynamic, talented student always ready to contribute to the community. Upon her victory, Linh shared her heartfelt emotions: “The journey at Miss Van Lang University 2023 brought me many emotional experiences. Thank you to everyone who has always supported and helped me throughout the competition.”
Gen Z spirit at the international stage
As a Gen Z, Vinh Linh embodies a dynamic spirit and a desire to conquer challenges. Despite the pressure of keeping up with her studies to graduate on time, she chose to participate in artistic activities and found ways to balance her schedule. By catching up on lessons and organizing her time scientifically, she managed to excel in her academic responsibilities while fully pursuing her passion. “We Gen Z have the disadvantage of lacking perseverance, but we are very flexible and quick to adapt to technology. The important thing is to leverage our strengths and continuously learn to achieve our goals,” Linh shared.
Under the pressure of being both a student and an artist, Linh has proven that with enough passion and determination, any challenge can be overcome. Her confidence and exceptional ability to balance these responsibilities make her a role model for young people, especially those struggling to reconcile academic duties with the pursuit of their dreams.
