Elle Fanning continued her recent streak of excellent style at the 2025 Golden Globes. The actor walked the carpet near her big sister, Dakota Fanning, who was up for an award.
The star of The Great looked ethereal in a champagne ball gown from Balmain with a built-in belt and a pop of sequined leopard print at the strapless neckline. The dreamy yet sassy look perfectly contrasted the deep-red carpet at the Beverly Hilton hotel. Elle expertly accessorized with a gold Panthère choker and matching bracelet from Cartier.
Her blonde hair was styled in an elegant, side-swept bun, and she wore a coral lip.
(Dakota, meanwhile, looked incredible in a transparent red gown and diamonds.)
After the ceremony, the sisters joined their fellow actors at Netflix’s after-party, held at Beverly Hills hotspot Spago. There, Elle delivered another striking leopard-print moment via a saucy slipdress with a high leg slit and matching cape. The spaghetti straps were adorned with little red dice, and Fanning wore the piece with see-through brown peep-toe sandals, like the cool girl she is. She also carried a matching leopard clutch bag snatched with a black belt around it, because more is more.
Elle was not nominated for a Golden Globe; her attendance at the ceremony and subsequent bash was purely to support her sister, who is nominated for an award in the category of Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Television Series for her performance in Ripley. The miniseries is based on Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 novel, The Talented Mr. Ripley.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Elle opened up about how her style differs from that of her sister. “I think Dakota’s very classic. I’m classic too, but with a twist,” Elle said. “She’s a little bit more laid-back. There have been times when she’s looked at me and she’s like, ‘Okay, you’re going to wear that?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah.’ And I think she loves me for that, but I kind of make a bolder choice, whereas she just wants to look beautiful and clean and chic. I get to be the crazy one. I think that younger-and-older-sister dynamic is classic.”
Elle also said that the Watchers star, with whom she has a production company, is her “built-in role model for life.”
“It’s just nice to know that there’s someone in your family who understands what you do,” Elle said. “So there’s just a real mutual understanding there and love. And I mean, she’s my favorite person. I couldn’t live without her.”
One goal they share, Elle added, is to get their sisterly chemistry onscreen. “We would love to work together in a film. We’ve come close, and it hasn’t quite worked,” she said. “But that is a dream that we want.”
