Miss Cosmo TP.HCM 2026 has officially unveiled its first promotional photos, offering a close-up look at the swimsuit collection “Be Shining Stars” created by designer Thuong Gia Ky in his role as Fashion Director. The project continues the designer’s signature modern performance aesthetic through metallic structures, wing-inspired details, and body-hugging silhouettes. The designer intentionally focused on movement effects under stage lighting while also ensuring comfort for the models with every step on the runway.
Designer Thuong Gia Ky’s signature designs
In recent years, Thuong Gia Ky has become known for his design direction that combines performance-driven aesthetics with a modern spirit. His creations often explore body-contouring structures and handcrafted embellishment techniques to create striking visual impact on stage.
The designer pays particular attention to portraying women as confident individuals with distinct personalities. Rather than focusing solely on sensuality, he places greater emphasis on the emotions that the garments bring to the wearer. For Thuong Gia Ky, a beautiful design is defined not only by its silhouette but also by how it allows a woman to feel more outstanding and captivating while performing.
This philosophy is what enables his designs to maintain a strong presence without feeling overly heavy. Bold cut-out details are carefully balanced to preserve harmony within the overall look. Metallic materials and reflective surfaces are also used in moderation, enhancing the garments’ allure under stage lighting without overwhelming the design.
The structure and materials of “Be Shining Stars”
At Miss Cosmo TP.HCM 2026, “Be Shining Stars” continues the design direction that Thuong Gia Ky has consistently pursued in recent years. The collection incorporates metallic materials combined with oversized wings to create a striking visual effect under stage lighting.
Some designs feature horizontally structured wings extending across the shoulders, while others elongate down the back to create a dramatic sense of expansion as the models turn. Under intense lighting, the reflective surfaces constantly shift with each catwalk step, giving the photoshoot the atmosphere of a high-fashion runway rather than a conventional swimsuit concept.
What stands out is how the wings are not treated as separate accessories detached from the outfits. Instead, they are integrated as natural extensions of the silhouettes, creating a seamless visual flow as the wearer moves. Through this collection, it becomes evident that Thuong Gia Ky is not attempting to transform swimwear into overly complicated performance costumes. Rather, he keeps every element balanced and controlled, ensuring that the focus remains on the wearer instead of relying entirely on stage effects.
The form’s flexibility through real-life movements
In many of his previous collections, Thuong Gia Ky has often encouraged models to project a sense of control and confidence while performing. That same philosophy continues in “Be Shining Stars,” where the designs are created to support movement rather than restrict it.
Xuan Hanh appears with sharp poses and a fierce expression, bringing a strong and decisive energy to the visuals. Ngo Bao Ngoc delivers a softer performance rhythm through graceful and delicate hand movements. Meanwhile, Bella Ferreira creates a bold and striking presence with a body language approach that leans heavily toward high-fashion runway performance.
Although each model represents a different energy and personality, all of them maintain a sense of comfort while performing in the large structured designs. This is especially important for stage-oriented collections, as overly heavy or restrictive outfits can easily disrupt a model’s catwalk rhythm and overall performance.
