Rami Malek and Emma Corrin Split After 2 Years of Dating

Rami Malek and Emma Corrin have broken up, PEOPLE has confirmed.

The Bohemian Rhapsody actor, 43, and The Crown alum, 29, have split after two years of dating. Malek and Corrin, who is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, first sparked romance rumors in July 2023 when they were seen together at a Bruce Springsteen concert in London.

The two were then spotted on a dinner date in August 2023, and a source told PEOPLE that month that Malek had been dating Corrin since earlier that summer and that he “has fun” with Corrin “and they are affectionate.”

Malek and Corrin often kept their relationship under wraps. However, they still made the occasional appearance as a couple.

They attended the EE BAFTA Film Awards Dinner in February 2024 and were photographed on a stroll together in Brazil in July.

The Oscar-winning actor shared some rare insight into their relationship while speaking with The Guardian in January, when he referred to Corrin as “Em,” “my partner” and “that person” throughout the interview.

At the time, Malek also shared that they had watched the 1964 movie Dr. Strangelove together and he’s spent some of his time in England’s Margate, Kent with Corrin.

When the outlet referred to the Deadpool & Wolverine star  “as smart and quirky,” Malek responded, “We like quirky.” He also described them as “fascinating” at one point.

The Mr. Robot alum — who was previously in a relationship with actress Lucy Boynton from 2019 and 2022 — spoke exclusively with PEOPLE on April 2 at the New York City premiere of The Amateur. In the film, he portrays “a brilliant, but deeply introverted decoder” for the CIA named Charlie Heller, who avenges his wife’s death, per a synopsis.

“I’m thrilled to share it tonight with everybody,” Malek told PEOPLE when asked who he is most excited to show the new movie to. “I mean, we’re at Lincoln Center in New York. I’m seeing the ad campaign up in Times Square. That’s pretty extraordinary after all these years: I got to star in an action movie. That’s something I never thought I would really ever say.”

Corrin was last seen on the small screen in the Black Mirror season 7 episode, “Hotel Reverie,” which premiered on April 10. They also appeared in 2024’s Nosferatu and is set to star in the starry movie adaptation of Isabel Greenberg’s 100 Nights of Hero graphic novel, alongside Nicholas Galitzine, Charli xcx and Richard E. Grant.

On April 10, Netflix announced that Corrin will star as Elizabeth Bennet in an upcoming series adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, opposite Jack Lowden’s Mr. Darcy and Olivia Colman’s Mrs. Bennet.
